On 1 October 2021, the University of Dhaka held its Ka-unit science admission test for the 2020–21 academic year. The exam had been delayed by the pandemic, and 117,957 applicants were competing for 1,815 places. Students and parents waited outside the Eden Mohila College centre, while staff at Curzon Hall checked admit cards and documents as candidates entered.

What makes this wait distinctive is that it was not merely a large gathering. An identity-and-document check created an ordered threshold to a selection process already delayed by a year. Even after the exam was spread across eight divisional cities, the final gate remained the individual check at each venue.
