Thailand began its COVID-19 vaccination campaign on 28 February 2021. At an infectious-diseases institute outside Bangkok, cabinet ministers, health officials and medical workers were among the first people in the queue. The initial doses used were made by China's Sinovac.
What distinguishes this line is that it was not yet the congestion of mass public vaccination. It was the ordered beginning of a national programme, with the identity of the first recipients serving as a public message about confidence in the vaccine.
