On 11 September 2023, people stood in line for aid in Amizmiz after Morocco's earthquake. A Reuters video record explicitly identifies 'people standing in line for aid' among shots of relief boxes, vehicles and a distribution site. The footage was made while transport and distribution to affected mountain communities were still under way several days after the quake.
What distinguishes this queue is not any suggestion that disaster becomes admirable when distribution is orderly. It shows the final step by which limited supplies reached individual lives. Boxes transported along damaged routes became assistance only when handed to people at the distribution point, one recipient at a time.
