India's Tirumala temple uses the Vaikuntham Queue Complex to release pilgrims toward the sanctuary in order. The official temple authority says 60,000 to 80,000 people visit daily, with free-darshan pilgrims waiting in interconnected halls. Free access operates for about eighteen hours on normal days and twenty on peak days.

The complex does not eliminate the queue; it houses it. Waiting pilgrims receive free food, drinks at three-hour intervals, medical care, toilets and televised programmes. The institution has built permanent infrastructure not only for worship, but for the waiting time of tens of thousands.
